  • March 23-24 Watch us perform routine health procedures: we’ll be clipping toenails, trimming teeth, spraying for ear ticks, giving shots
  • April 27-28 We will be just starting to train last year’s crias who have just been weaned. They need to learn to let people learn to pick up their feet up, walk on a lead. It will be good to have you present to watch and to touch them. They need to get used to having people they don’t know around them. No dogs, please.
  • May 3-5 Come see us at the Great Western Alpaca Show in Denver. Alpaca breeders from all over the country
    attend GWAS; it is one of the biggest shows in the country.
  • June Shearing! Check our website for the date when you can come and watch Peter shear our alpacas.
  • June 1 We’ll be at the Cirque du Monument at Gallery 132 in Monument between 11AM and 2:00PM.
  • June 29-30 We will be processing this year’s fiber clip: skirting, tumbling, carding, possibly spinning
  • July 27-28 Barb will be felting products in preparation for our Fashion Show in the Barn, Front Range Open Studio Tour, gallery display at Commonwheel Artists Co-op, the Alpaca Extravaganza and sales and our own farm Store here. We will have brand new crias (babies) on the ground by the end of July.
  • August Open Farm date to be determined: check our website. Sit on a bale of hay and enjoy our Fashion Show in the Barn. Peter will lead the alpaca whose fiber is in a garment behind the model wearing the garment.
  • Sept 7-8 Barb will be one of the artists featured on the Front Range Open Studio Tour. Come and watch her create her felted wearable art. Felted products will be for sale.
  • Sept 28-29 Our Open Farm Weekend is also National Alpaca Farm Days weekend. Come see the new crias, watch us training our 2018 crias – now yearlings. We’ll also be spinning, knitting and felting.
  • Oct 5 Come to the Manitou Art Center to visit TACTILE, the annual event put on by Textiles West, an organization dedicated to the growth of fiber arts. Learn how you can take textile classes of all kind. See fiber animals: sheep, goats, a bunny whose owner spins the fiber she is plucking from the rabbit, a yak and our alpacas.

  • November 23-24 Alpaca Extravanza at the Black Forest Community Club where 10 to 14 local alpaca farms and fiber artists will have booths selling alpaca products. Wild Hair Alpacas will have Barb’s felted alpaca products and several of our alpacas there.
  • Saturday, Nov 30 and Sunday, Dec 1 This will be our Open Farm Weekend and our Farm Holiday Shopping kickoff. We will be open the weekends of Dec 7-8, 14-15 and 21-22 . Visit us for unique gifts! You’ll find one of a kind hand felted alpaca wearable art, alpaca socks and more made by our alpaca fiber co-op, a variety of products from other alpaca sources, Barb’s alpaca children’s books and of course, the ultimate gift for your family or fiber person: ALPACAS.
