It is with great sadness that we announce that Chanchamayo passed away this spring. He died of complications from a urinary blockage. He produced three very nice males for us, and we are sorry to have lost him.

Chanchamayo was a sturdy, heavy boned bay black silky male with both Felix and Augusto as great grandfathers. He had a wonderful temperament and was extremely easy to work with and use as a breeding male. He was shown in 2009 and took second place twice behind the color champion and a first at GWAS 2009. His fleece is dense, crimpy, and bright. He has a silky fleece which he has passed on to his first born cria, a fawn male who is gorgeous. His first shearing showed an AFD of 15.9, SD of 2.4, CV of 14.8, and 0.1 % >30 , and his 2013 shearing was still excellent with an AFD of 23.6, SD of 4.4, CV of 18.8, and 5.8% > 30. He was retaining his fineness.

All told we had three Chanchamayo crias, and they are gorgeous. We have two fawn male with very dense crimpy fleece from a black female with white markings, and a bay black male that looks very much like his dad from a fawn female. All have excellent temperaments.
