This is a starter package for new alpaca enthusiasts who do not want to become breeders. It is a package of fiber or companion animals, mostly males. We have included three males in a variety of colors so you cna have more options when considering use of their fiber. Individually these males sell for $300-400 each. At this price the buyer will have to assume the cost of any transportation if you are mmore than 100 miles from Wild hair Alpacas.
Poco Loco's Pistolero - This gelding showed as a medium rose grey. He is very friendly and makes a great PR animal. His 2010 fiber sample showed an AFD (avg. fiber diameter) of 33.7 and a SD (standard deviation) of 5.8
WHA Collosus - This gelded male is white, and he produces nice fiber, though he is not especially dense. He is more reserverd than Pistolero but is an easy male to work with. His 2010 fiber sample showed an AFD (avg. fiber diameter) of 26.3 and a SD (standard deviation) of 4.7
WHA Redrocks - Rocky is a light brown with white markings on his face. His fiber has a nice handle but is too coarse for a herdsire. His 2010 fiber sample showed an AFD (avg. fiber diameter) of 28.9 and a SD (standard deviation) of 7.9 |

This package targets the new breeder and is an example of what we can do to meet your needs. These two females are representative of our herd and an average price point. You can request a quote for any combination of females you are interested in. The price will vary, depending on the age and value of the females.
Wild Hair's Queen of the Nile, aka Cleo, is a very typy medium fawn 2 year old female who has placed well (top 4) the two times we showed her. She produces excellent fiber with a very soft handle and well defined crimp. She has a great tempermant and a lovely head. Her 2010 fiber sample showed an AFD of 21.4, SD of 4.6, CV of 21.5, and a comfort factor of 94.7. Her first cria is a very nice girl with the same color and tempermant. She is bred to our award winning white herdsire, DCA Carravaggio, for a September 2011 cria.
WHA Dorothy is a big bay black 3 year old with 12+ small white spots that classed her as a multi when shown. She has placed in the top 5 the two times we showed her. Dorothy's fiber is very soft handle and average density. Her 2010 fiber sample showed an AFD of 23.1, SD of 4.8, CV of 20.8, and a comfort factor of 94.4. Her first cria is a very nice brown female with the same easy going tempermant. She is bred to our two-time color champion, Zebulon II, for a June 2011 cria. |
